About Collagen Injections
Collagen is a naturally-occurring substance that makes up 80% of the skin. Collagen helps to support the skin – maintaining health, strength, and elasticity – but the body's natural supply of collagen decreases with age. As collagen levels are depleted, the skin develops more lines and wrinkles making the face appear tired and slack. Collagen injections help to strengthen the skin and fill in lines and wrinkles like the nasolabial folds (commonly known as smile lines). Collagen injections can also be used to add natural-looking volume to the lips, whether the patient has naturally thin lips or their lips have lost shape with age. Cosmetic and general dentist Dr. Victoria Veytsman performs collagen injections to improve the appearance of wrinkles and enhance the lips at her office in Manhattan.

"Dr. Veytsman has been keeping my smile beautiful for almost 20 years. I would never let anyone else work on my teeth. Not only is she brilliant at making people look beautiful, she's a pleasure to be around. I really enjoy each visit because I get to catch up with her and her infectious energy and amazing attitude. She cares about me, my family, and making me look great. And of course, she's a terrific dentist and my teeth have stayed healthy and strong all these years."- E.L. / Facebook / May 16, 2018
"God bless you"- J.M. / Facebook / Feb 07, 2018
"Finding a dentist is quite difficult, given how dreadful it is to go to one. I felt the same way when I was searching for one. I came across Dr. V and immediately booked an appointment, hoping it wouldn't be as frightful as my previous experiences with my past dentists. Well let me tell you, not only did Dentist visits stop being dreadful, it became one that I ALWAYS looked forward to! Dr. Veytsman is by far the most sweetest, personable, humble, and straight-forward physicians I have ever met! She makes every visit personal and makes sure the patient is comfortable. She goes through multiple options for whatever procedure you need to get done. Best part is, she DOES NOT rush! She takes her time on her patients, to make sure they don't go through any discomfort or pain. Along with her positive and bright personality, she made sure to hire the most friendliest, fun and sweetest staff to work with her; that would add to the kind of environment and patient experience that she is trying to create: easy, comfortable, fun, relaxing and HAPPY. Thanks Dr. V for taking care of me for over 8 years, and tackling each tooth one at time! You're the best! :)"- S.P. / Yelp / Jan 09, 2018

What to Expect
Once Dr. Veytsman and the patient have created a custom treatment plan based on the patient's needs, concerns, and cosmetic goals, the injections can be performed. Dr. Veytsman will begin by cleansing the face and marking the injections sites. Most treatments take less than one hour as Dr. Veytsman carefully applies the ideal amount of collagen injections in the needed areas of the face.
After their collagen injections, patients can resume their regular day, but they are encouraged to stay out of the sun. Some patients may notice swelling, bruising, and redness for the first 1 – 2 days after their treatment. Some results will be visible immediately after the treatment, but patients should see their best results one week after their injections. The results of collagen injections typically last 3 – 4 months and can be repeated as needed to maintain the patient's appearance.
